Elizabeth Nostedt, DTM

International Director, Region 10

Elizabeth Nostedt, DTM³, of Gothenburg, Sweden, is a project manager with 28 years of experience. Currently, she is a Senior Project Manager with CGI Sweden, where she has worked for the last 14 years. In her role, she manages strategic projects for clients and leads teams that are diverse, global, and digital. She helps her clients function better as a team and is accountable to the Board of Directors, providing status updates on project progress, finances, and risk management assessments.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, with Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Economics, and Bachelor of Education degrees. She helped start the first Toastmasters club in Gothenburg and helped build clubs across Sweden and Europe, helping to create the first District in Europe.

Elizabeth started in Toastmasters in Winnipeg Canada after seeing a transformation of a colleague from being shy and not able to put her message across, to becoming a confident speaker.  She joined the same club as the colleague and stayed with the group for about 2 years before she moved to Toronto and eventually Sweden.

A Toastmaster in Sweden since 1995, Nostedt’s home club is Saturday Breakfast Speakers in Gothenburg. She has held a number of high-profile leadership positions within Toastmasters and has attained the Distinguished Toastmaster designation three times—the highest level of educational achievement in the organization.

“Toastmasters has helped me to gain the confidence and self-assurance I needed to reach higher levels in my career, and to become a more balanced person in every role at work or personally,” she said. “With this confidence and balance, I dared to take on more demanding leadership roles at work and volunteer associations.”

As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Nostedt is a “working ambassador” for the organization. She works with the Board to develop, support, and modify the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.
